Travistan Readies for Olympic Fever
TRAVAMABAD, TRAVISTAN (DPI) - The Travistani delegation to the 2002 Salt Lake City
Olympics sat ready in downtown Travamabad today, fueled by Olympic spirit,
coffee, and jelly doughnuts. While not technically competing in the winter
games this year due to lack of funding and "a back thing," President Travis
of the apartment-nation issued a statement of support for all athletes. "We
wish each of the competing athletes the very best of luck," said Travis from
the Presidential Recliner while watching women's 15-kilometer cross-country
skiing. According to the official Al-Traveera news agency, the Travistan
delegation is keeping in shape for the 2004 games with daily practice in the
Bitravlon, an obscure sport consisting of beer can crushing and video games.
