Cameron Sets Out to Make World's
Most Ambitious Campaign Commercial
HOLLYWOOD (DPI) - Moments after Arnold Schwarzenegger announced his
candidacy for the California governor's seat, another Hollywood
heavyweight put on the gloves. Longtime friend and collaborator James
Cameron has been tapped to write, direct and produce Schwarzenegger's only
campaign ad.
"Arnold's motto, and mine for that matter, has always been, 'Go Big Or Go
Home,' " said Cameron from his Lightstorm Entertainment offices.
Security is tight, but insider website AICN.com has posted some leaked tidbits. Among them, Cameron has commissioned a 9/10th scale replica of
California to be built off the coast of Rosarito Beach, Mexico; early drafts of
the script call for the model to break in half and sink into the Pacific
while voice-over condemns the current administration. A love story also will be woven into the copy.
"I'm confident voters will come to know, care about and, dare I say, root for
the Californian characters in this spot," said Cameron. "It will feel like they are actually
there when Davis sends this state to the bottom. Powerful shit!"
