McQuigly and Moss
There will be no columns from Dirk and me today. Unfortunately, Dirk is
sick. Maybe it was something he ate in New York -- I told him those hot
dogs looked like they had been in that water for at least 24 hours. But
did he listen? Nooooooooooo.
As for me, it's my birthday. Not MY actual birthday, but today is the
birthday of Star Trek. The first episode aired 38 years ago today
(stardate 1513.1) and as they say, the rest is history. ST has changed the way I
live. I can't imagine a world without it. ST is responsible for modern
sci-fi. Without ST, instead of being able to watch great movies like
Star Wars and so many others, we'd still be watching Buck Rogers in
black and white. So happy birthday, Star Trek -- may you live long and
prosper!
