Family of Anti-War Activist Longs for Day of His Return
SANTA MONICA, Calif. (DPI) - Randy and Lily Bundrick will never forget the day their
son, Blaize, left home and headed for San Francisco, where at an army base he would
stand tall and proud with other Americans in the midst of war.
"We didn't want him to leave us, but we knew this is something he had to do
for his country," Lily said, sobbing quietly. "He loves America too much to
see it destroy other countries and spill the blood of the innocent for their
oil."
Blaize is currently stationed in front of the entrance to the Fort Cox Army
Base just 40 miles southwest of San Francisco, where he and his fellow
protesters, who call themselves the Anti-American Army (or occasionally
the Anti-War Army), are heeding the call to speak out against the war in
Iraq.
"It's not easy for us to sit here in our living room and wonder where he
could be and how he's doing," Randy said. "Sometimes, I find myself scanning
the news channels and occasionally I'll catch a glimpse of him on
Fox News getting doused with pepper spray just for locking arms and blocking
a building entrance. That's the time when I feel most proud of my boy."
